Turkmenistan is the home of an ancient civilization. This land saw the invasion of Alexander the Great and of Mongol hordes. The region of Merve has a history of more than two thousand years. One more site is a great archeological discovery of Nisa - the capital of the Parthian Empire. More artifacts are displayed in Museum of History in Ashgabat.
The highlight of the tour is the "Tolkuchka" Sunday Bazaar where different Turkmen tribes offering their produce: carpets, embroidery, silver jewelry, utensils etc. This region is also famous for the production of elegant carpets and the unique breed of the Turkmen horses.

Sketch itinerary

Day 01 Friday: Arrive Ashgabat

Day 02 Saturday: Ashgabat
Ashgabat City Tour.

Day 03 Sunday: Ashgabat
Visit the "Talkuchka" (from the Russian word tolkat meaning to push), the Sunday Bazaar.

Day 04 Monday: Ashgabat / Mary
Morning drive to Mary.

Day 05 Tuesday: Mary / Ashgabat
Morning tour of Merv. Afternoon return to Asgabat.

Day 06 Wednesday: Ashgabat / Dashoguz
Morning transfer to the airport for a short flight to Dashoguz (also commonly referred to as Tashauz). On arrival proceed for the Kunya Urgench Tour.

Day 07 Thursday: Dashoguz / Ashgabat
Morning at leisure or optional day tour to Khiva.

Day 08 Friday: Depart Ashgabat
Farewell after a fascinating trip.
